I'm really looking forward to hearing her Peel Sessions album.

I still enjoy putting on "Uh Huh Her." I actually don't think she's ever made a bad album.

i think "uh huh her" and "rid of me" are my favourites. what is this 'Peel sessions' you speak of? is it the new one, or something?

The new one yeah, a collection of most of her Peel Sessions appearances. I pre-ordered mine but it's been delayed until the end of the month.

I listened to Desert Sessions Vol. 9 & 10 today. PJ sounds so good on that.
I've only heard one PJ Harvey album and that's Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea.

If you liked that album, I would get "To Bring You My Love" next. It's probably her second most upbeat and accessible album.

I think my brother has all of her albums. Too bad he moved out a few years ago.

All i can say is that "Is This Desire?" is the shizzle. I got basically all her work minus "Dance Hall at Louise Point", which is next in line. I didnt really imagine getting as into her as i have, but hey.....she is quite awesome. Her new piano based material is sounding fantastic.

There's an ama-a-a-zing version of Willie Dixon's Wang dang doodle on that Peel sessions CD. Similar to this version:

And here's another rendition which is conveniently butchered by host Jools Holland's jazzclub style piano...

Saw her live with Josh Klinghoffer the other day ... she's an adorably ass-kicking piece purest rock'n'roll

I saw this video of Paul Kelly and Katy Steele (from Little Birdy) covering the song This Mess We're In with Paul Kelly being Thom Yorke and Katy Steele being PJ Harvey. It was cool.

When I first heard "Dry" it totally blew me away. Songs like Dress, She-la-na-gig, and Victory left an indelible imprint. I was never really that satisfied with the production on the "rid of me" sessions, but it still a good album. After that in my opinion, her next couple of albums were good but not great. I recently picked the
"Peel Sessions" and I was pleasantly surprised by the emotion in her performances. The song she wrote for John Peel's funeral, "you come through" is especially
heartfelt.

Overall, she is an amazing songstress and performer. Nothing better than a confident girl with a guitar and microphone

Hell yes I'll be buying the shit out of this new one.

Saw her live in 04, amazing show. The UHH songs sounded way better live, the production on that album kinda held back the good songs. The tour DVD is also awesome. Klinghoffer is solid gold.

My favorites are probably TBYML, Is This Desire, and Stories which was one of the CDs that helped make me a hardcore music fan back in 2000.
