The new album was a grower for about the first 5 listens, but now it's ungrowing. It has it's moments though, but meh.

What do you think about it Mr. Horse?

Mmmm. No sir, I dont like it.

I really have to check some of her stuff out, I like everything I've heard from the Desert Sessions and the new album. Where is the best place to start, I heard the new album isn't all that amazing, but I might be wrong.

If you like the Desert Sessions stuff then check out the more kinda raw, plain, guitar-based stuff like Uh Huh Her, Rid of Me, Stories from the City, Dry, and the like.

I first got into her for real when I heard "Is this desire?". Great album.

Yes, the new album is a grower. The songs are quite depressing, so I can't listen to them all the time. But it's a really good album, some of the songs are amazing.

Holy shiznit!

From Billboard Autolux article.

During downtime from finishing the record, Azar will occupy the drum stool for a new Polly Jean Harvey/John Parish record, which should be out sometime this year. The album is the follow-up to the pair's 1996 effort "Dance Hall at Louse Point."

Two of my favourite female musicians on the same album... Get Joanna Newsom featuring there and it will be heaven.

Ooh that's cool. Dance Hall at Louse Point is a great album, another would be cool. The song Taut off of that is one of my faves.

I've been listening a lot to "Down by the Water" lately. Love it.

The Hope Six Demolition Project releases today.  Her ninth solo record, eleventh overall including the John Parish collaboratives.

I have the CD but haven't heard too much yet.  You can bet I'll be indulging tonight.  Very excited for the follow-up to Let England Shake.  Which, by the way, does anyone have the 2 b-sides for?  I'm in need of those.  I can provide pretty much any other PJ b-side.

EDIT:  Did I mean... PBJ-side?

I glanced at the title and instantly thought "Steve Harvey appreciation thread."

I know who PJ Harvey is, though. She is badass.

Carry on.

Secured.  I couldn't be happier -- 3 dates of ATDI in June followed by this in August, on my 3 year anniversary with my girlfriend, no less.  Ballin'.

Seeing her tomorrow night at Filene Center @ Wolf Trap Foundation For The Performing Arts / Vienna, VA

Row H, 8th row from pit, so likely 13th row overall.  Nearly dead center, so I'm very excited.  My concert experience last August was fairly horrific, as this entitled cunt beside me wanted me to stand back from the balcony to better enjoy herself... though I had arrived to the venue hours early, meanwhile she of course came in late.

I had relatives who lived in Vienna years ago. I thought Wolf Trap burned to the ground.
