I actually quite like this take on frame by frame - the tuned precision leading it to start is groovy and jakko and Tony’s singing works for me. They seem to have it as a song played every night now so band must be happy with it......

sad though that sheltering sky seems to have fallen away, I thought it sounded cool in the one bootleg I heard.

Well I heard it live and liked Fripps soloing but always found that song kinda boring, they also didn't have an interesting drum arrangement IMO

it's too long probably and they have to drop it in order to play more songs. exiles from 2017 is still not released. wonder why they didnt like it. the bootleg version is pretty good

there never was.  It was just the log drum (or whatever it's called) that Brufrod is playing as a backdrop.  It was a pure Belew and Fripp play about.

Crazy reality we live in - this band has played a decent chunk of the discipline album at this point: discipline, indiscipline, frame by frame, and sheltering sky with 3 of those in regular rotation - who would have thought that in 2014?!?!?!

Funny enough I am glad they haven't included my favorite song of that album/line-up Thela Hun Gunjeet.  That is pure Belew nonsense.

Oh totally - Thela and elephant talk are too purely Belew. Then again I once thought the same of indiscipline and color me converted because I quite like jakkos take on that tune.

I don‘t understand the talk about Belew era tracks. Why would the dude currently singing „badidada“ in one song not be able to also go „thela hun ginjeet“ in another?

I think Jakko ist too puffed for fast or sustaining(like in frame by frame) vocals (sry for my English)

Adrian is really good in holding a note or doing spoken word stuff

Larks 4 also came back - glad to see it. I liked sheltering sky on the one bootleg it’s been on, even if it does kind of just sound like a jam song for fripp and Mel to solo over. I like it!

Clearly the band likes the way frame by frame sounds - it’s a nightly consistent song now so seems here to stay. If you asked me four years ago if this band would play a 3 song sequence of discipline, frame by frame, and indiscipline, I would have laughed but here we are!
