Technical skills don't warrant much in my book - technical skills with vitality and emotion mean a lot more (and obviously that is an arguable point regarding Rush). I'm not very big on Geddy Lee's voice either - it seems to take the most painful Cedric vocals to the upper echelon of annoyance (plus, the inability to take it seriously).

Like most prog bands...once you look past the suck, there are some great songs to be heard. Overall, I think they're a great band. "La Villa Strangiato" is an awesome instrumental. And I don't mind a few of the tracks with vocals either...

i stay away from rush... all ive heard is the stuff off shitty radio stations though.

the reason: this teacher i had last year senior year of high school...obsessed with rush. that may sound cool, but you know the dyke ass feminist female superiority over men obsessed bitch (sorry ladies, no harm intended, you dont know this whore, and the girls hated her as much as we did) anyway, everytime i hear rush an image of her pops into my head, and it makes me shudder, not to mention shit and piss my pants simultaneously.

i once saw peart on tv with about 10 different drum kits around him in a semi-circle and he was just moving down each one of them and going absolutely nuts live. that was pretty sweet.

I'm totally bumping this to get some Rush back in the Citadel. You can't beat 'em, not even with a huge stick. They had so many different periods: fuck-rock(1st record), castle-rock(Fly By Night-Caress of Steel), space-rock(2112-A Farewell To Kings-Hemispheres-Permanent Waves), best album ever-rock(Moving Pictures), synth reggae-rock(Signals-Grace Under Pressure), arena-rock(Power Windows-Presto-Hold Your Fire-Roll The Bones), 90's alt-rock(Counterparts-Test For Echo), and finally, pseudo heavy metal-rock(Vapor Trails). Not to mention their four awesome live albums. But seriously, even if you don't like them, if you listen to Hemispheres through Grace Under Pressure and don't find something you like, I pity you. A lot.

Neil Peart's drum solo "il baterista" or whatever its called on the Rush in Rio dvd is one of my best things ever.

I own most of Rush's abums cant have all of them the have like 50 god damn albums. Most of their middle age albums are the best like 2112, permanat waves, moving pictures, a farewell to kings and hemispheres. thoes I highly recomend to someone who is interested in this band.

I will admit the rap part of roll the bones was an emaresment. Its a good song but the rap shit just killed it
