pretty much my thoughts on it too. i like the music a lot but i dont really find myself putting it on because of the vocals. easy to call it a declining point when it was second to last to be released though haha

While the Ipecac series was being released I had a harder time with the vocals & many of the albums in general, but time's definitely made this one an album that stuck with me. Really dig some of the Volta-y jams on here like Five Star, Mommy Dearest & Try On Little Man. There's definitely some tracks that seem out of place but over-all this is a solid 6-7/10 for me. 1 being Infinity Drips, 10 being Bedlam lol

Guitar/drums second half of Strangled Maybes is totally unnecessary Omar by numbers jam stuff and kinda ruins what was a really perfect song.
Been relistening to this album a little and Strangled Maybes is prob one of my top 10 favorite tracks from the Ipecac era because of the totally unnecessary Omar by numbers jam in the second half.

Love that synth that ends the song though. God damn I wish this album was a little more polished with proper vocals, so much potential. Reminds me of the USM days.

I've loved SSM since it dropped but the general Omar noodling and vocals seem to drive a lot of people away.

im still of the opinion that this is only a smidge better than equinox in terms of hodgepodge comps. the vocals are at some of their rougher moments on this

I like this one. I tend to mix it up with Gorilla since they were released close to another.
It's not a great album or anything and I wouldn't recommand it to anyone I think, but it's the classical weird and dark Omar stuff - the kinda stuff I like him for.

Gorilla is one of my absolute favs, not just of the ipecac series, but of his whole career. Those jams man
Ssm on the other hand: meh
