It seems that Omar will compose the ost for a film called "Vienes de Noche", directed by the mexican Jorge Michel Grau. It's about werewolves. The link is in spanish, but the most important part is that Omar is composing the music only knowing the script and the universe of the film.

I mean, sorry, albums like that just aren't how film soundtracks work. You need musical themes, instrumental repetitions and motifs that reappear - not ten disparate lyric led songs. It might have been a companion album to the film, but put those songs in a film and you're using them as a primary narrative device with lyrics telling not showing, and music not in service to the dialogue, scenes, cinematography etc. Look at (bad example maybe) Badly Drawn Boy's soundtrack to About A Boy. A couple of lyric songs, mostly instrumental pieces in service to the film. Same with Thom Yorke's Suspiria soundtrack.

Was one of my ex's favourite films. I can't remember the soundtrack but I suppose there's more than one way to skin a cat.

No, it was a song based soundtrack for the film. It was made then they cancelled it before they started shooting. It was a studio film. The producer asked Omar to rewrite lyrics to make it as simple as possible. Soundtracks don’t always need to be traditional scoring. Could have been a bit of score and Omar’s songs. Or all sound design, with Corazones weaving in and out. Lyrically and musically it feels like it’s all one connected thing. Themes come back about the character’s girlfriend, mother, father.

Because he’s making it personal to him, which is probably why he took the job. He said he identified with the characters in the script.

A great example was The Duke of Burgundy OST. Beautiful. Sebastien Tellier's Confection wasn't an OST as far as I'm aware, but basically acted as a very competent one also. Repeating motifs hugely important in that context. Have you seen Suspiria remake? I love the Yorke album but feel it may still be too intrusive to work. Need to watch it.
