I got the 12" EP that has "Shine A Light" and "Disco Sheets" along with two other non-album tracks, and, wow. The non-album tracks don't impress me much (I'm thinking it has to do with Isaac Brock producing), but the songs that are going on the album, wow, just fucking stellar for no reason at all.

Anyone heard this? I think the full album's leaked, actually.

i've been listening to their album for two days now, and can't really get into anything besides the first couple songs. the production is indeed muddled sometimes.

but "you are a runner" is one hell of a song.

It's a good album, in my opinon

My favorite thing out of Canada is still Feist, but that sure is a productive area these days.

canada has always been the place for new music :)

well, since 2003. I've never actually heard Wolf Parade, but I've heard Frog Eyes (they share some members). Maybe I'll go listen to the album on tuesday

mmm. this is a very interesting album.

to me, it seems like Wolf Parade owes more to their sound to the Arcade Fire than to Isaa Brock. They both have that, taking themselves very seriously sound. They don't compromise on anything. The entire album is very mellow/melancholy. There isn't a single upbeat song on it. I quite like that.

I think I've listened to it three times straight thru since getting it from the store. Because well, of the great things you guys said on it here, and that they share members with Frog Eyes (<3 frog eyes). A very good buy I must say.

I still haven't gotten the new album yet, though.

i'm really feeling this album lately.

mostly "shine a light" and "fancy claps."

some of the vocals remind me so much of beck that it's not even funny.

yeah I thought the same thing. Except I also think that We Build Another World sounds like Beck too.

the beginning of Fancy Claps almost sounds like the Unicorns :)

does anyone know how many singers this band has?
