I also saw the Melvins open for Tool
I was young when I saw them, but Revolve got me

I bought a bunch of their albums, and I like Stoner Witch and Houdini.

They were one of Kurt Cobain's favourites weren't they? I seem to recall reading about them in the Heavier than Heaven biography.

I heard the Mangled Demos from 1983 album thats coming out on the 31st, and it was kind of cool. It is an album they recorded but never released, and its very... punk. Its cool that they finally got to release the album, but its not very similar to their new stuff, so dont expect it to be. Also they had a different drummer, who left before their first real album.

Melvins Kick Muchas Arse. Oven is one huge blow to the face, what a fucken song...

This'll sound poor but i actually like that up tempo little ditty cover song off ozma/gluey porch treatments. Shit i can't remember the track title or who done the original version.

Bar X The Rocking M is also pretty hard to go past.

They have expanded their live lineup. Now features an extra guitarist, a bassist (they need one, Kevin Rutmanis left) and an extra drummer. All three guys from the band Big Business.

But the jury is still out on what the "new Houdini" will be. Most likely to be either a live album from the "Don't Look Back" London show or a studio rerecording with Trevor Dunn from Fantomas/Mr Bungle on bass.
