hmmm... I listened to it last night and it was okay but I wasn't very impressed to be honest. I'll have to try it again for sure but to me all the horn parts sounded similar and the lyrics were cheesy sometimes..

well the lyrics have been cheesy from the start most of the time right?

i mean:

The rusted chains of prison moons
Are shattered by the sun.
I walk a road, horizons change
The tournament's begun.
The purple piper plays his tune,
The choir softly sing;
Three lullabies in an ancient tongue,
For the court of the crimson king.

sounds like the intro for a nintendo fantasy rpg. I MEAN there's nothing wrong with nintendo rpgs, but still...

the discipline-beat-toapp trilogy had kinda awesome beat generation inspired lyrics, but then again these were also VERY OBVIOUSLY inspired by the beat generation, i mean, when you call your album BEAT, could you get more obvious?

"The Scarcity of Miracles" song is precisely why I never get into any of the ProjeKts. That is NOT King Crimson.

I'll check the rest of the album out for Gavin's playing though.

you might wanna check out ProjeKCt One, the two albums put out with that lineup aren't half bad.

I just listened to Lark's Tongue 1 and that is Omar. That is Omar. I love Red, Crimson King, Poseidon, and Discipline. I got to see them open up for Dream Theater (well it was the Crimson Projeckt) and that was crazy. Too bad Fripp isn't willing to tear it up anymore. His soundscapes sound ducking amazing though.

Discuss more King Crimson! Do you think Adrian Belew ruined them?!?!?!?!?!?

^what??!?! no!
adrian saved them you ass. several times in fact

before adrian showed up, fripp was a hermit locked up in his house, from 1975 till at least 1979. because he had let himself be convinced by some guru that the world would end soon. then adrian came along and they completely rediscovered themselves. the three 80s albums are pretty much perfect. then fripp called it quits again around '85. almost ten years later they start anew, completely reinvented again, including industrial influences and stuff which they learned by working together with NIN at several occassions. and guess who made that happen: adrian. 2000s same story. the guy is actually trying to get fripp back on stage with king crimson to this day!!

i didn't mean to call you an ass btw, i apologize

Hahahaha, it's okay! I didn't say that he ruined it, I just asked it XD But yeah, I really enjoy all of the work with Adrian. They really evolved with him in the group! And that would be crazy if they got him in the group and they made another album! I never really got in to The Power to Believe.

They have three masterpieces: In the Court, Red, and Discipline. Each is flawless as far as I'm concerned. That talent that has passed through this band is staggering.

I like that album a lot - Trey Gunn in particular is an outrageous musician. It's just that those three stand out as being in a class of their own.
