Exposure is a really meh album. Breathless is a good song. The singing on it is so hammy and annoying. It's why I don't really dig the Sylvian stuff either. Odd enough I think Crimson does best with rough around the edges singers. Gives the band it's grit

I do tend to agree - exposure not really my cup o tea, ditto to league of gentlemen which you have to imagine will get covered in this box. I think it’s more a box for them to work on now that all KC boxes are done until the current band (ie fripp) chooses to hang it up and retire.

I say that because we know at min they play to release all shows of current band 2014-present digitall. have to imagine there will be a corresponding box set with Video footage as well - we know they filmed all shows from 2015-present, with 2015 using the cheaper radical action cameras and the more recent at least since 2017 using a full HD camera setup to film. So have to imagine that’ll see light of day!

So yeaaahhh have to assume exposure box is a 2021 thing that doesn’t interest me much, but am hoping that Toby wraps up the documentary for 2020 release!

i dont see any place for the 90s stuff in this box if its gonna be exposure centric. those soundscapes have so much less bite with the midi system, it'd sound really awkward next to the feedback loop stuff.

and yeah i agree on it being a meh album. its really weird that he had 4 years to cook it up and really put a lot of thought into it (road to 81 shit) but still managed to have it fall flat like that. there's some great highs: preface, water music, ny3 and breathless; but those lows are pretty low like the roche screaming on the title track and burn me up. the trio rehearsal stuff though is next level, they've already put out a shit load already but i hope that we get some new or cleaner stuff

what was the point of putting audience recording of dr diamond on 2020 boxset if there are plenty of multitrack soundboards?

I'm actually ok with League.  It's a weird transitional band that is pretty forgettable, but it had a curious new wave vibe.

When did they announce this box?

Pretty sure this is new.  Crimson performing for some music show on the '84 tour.  Sleepless is a banger on this one.

Jakko says KC tunes are cowritten by Fripp and uncertain times is gonna get a music video. He also said if they were done by KC theyd sound differently

Have to imagine those 3 KC-intended tunes are the only ones on his solo album that fripp plays on, given he’s not on the first two tunes they’ve released? Pretty obvious marketing move to hold back uncertain times if it’s a fripp feature/co-written song as that’ll lead to a bit more of a promotion pop when it does come out.

Will be curious if KC integrates uncertain times, separation, and whatever the third KC-intended tune is into their repertoire.

Uncertain times is out today.....can hear how he would have intended it for KC. No credits given on it and based on the video released, guitar is all jakko, so still no fripp sighting on the solo album yet as far as I can tell...

Youtube autogenerated link credits only Jakko and Gavin with songwriting so perhaps they wrote it and Fripp after hearing it didnt want to work on it. Im pretty sure The Errors started as a jakko/gavin track and Fripp worked on it some more later. Too bad. I thought Fripp is at least on all 3 tracks

They kind of implied originally in the press release announcing the album that fripp would show up......3 songs in, nothing yet.

Guessing at this point, Mel and fripp are just on Separation and nowhere else to be found. That album we know they are on.
