I agree with the first post, this is my top album of the year. I love every single track on it, which is rare for me.

Listening now. One of my favourite albums of this year (along with Cryptomnesia, Crack The Skye, Muukalainen Puhuu (Oranssi Pazuzu) etc.).

How is this overrated? Where is all the hype? The only people who spoke highly of this album was the various critics who rate new rock music, whereas we didn't get all the pseudo bullshit MTV-style hype. That's when your music becomes over-rated.

Here is their latest performance from SNL. Those of you calling this band hype should watch this clip first.

Also, there was a skit with Dave where he played drums that was pretty funny.

From Wikipedia:

Second studio album

Grohl said in a recent interview that they are already working on a second album that will be more powerful than the first one. [13] John Paul Jones also stated in a interview whilst touring in New Zealand that they will be recording a new album in with a likely release date towards the end of 2010. When asked about the futures of Grohl and Homme's bands Jones said that they will get their frontmen back "eventually".

are they an actual band do you know or is this a one album kind of supergroup thing? cause i loved their album and it would be awesome if they stayed together. not overrated at all. just plain good.

I view this as the latest incarnation of Queens of the Stone Age. The only new guy is Jones.Grohl was drummer on Songs for the Deaf, and Alain Johannes was on the last two QOTSA records.

Homme did say the new QOTSA record will be "an orgy in the desert." Vultures does not sound like that description.

Hope we still get to see these guys return, not to talk down on new QOTSA which I'm very pumped for, but I love the TCV debut and was really excited when they were hinting at new material. Dave Grohl's mentioned a few times recently that they still plan to release another album at some point, but I imagine that won't be until at least a year from now, once QOTSA have finished touring and all that.
