Self-proclaimed fascist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez

Wow, a bit harsh? ;)

Good read!

When I read an interview like this, I find it really hard to believe that there's a very strong "credible" rumor that TMV are about to throw in the towel. Based on this interview, there seems to be ZERO indication of that ever happening. Unless they all continue to make music under a different name.

When Rodriguez-Lopez was 12 and Bixler- Zavala was 14, the two passed each other between each of their bands’ rehearsals, held in the garage whose adult owners didn’t mind the loud music.

“It was just one of those things that people describe as love at first sight,” Rodriguez–Lopez says. “You just know you’ve met someone. That was the beginning of a very long relationship and friendship.”

That is a good article, I really enjoyed the insights that provided from the Jerusalem post. Noctourniquette is an awesome album, I'm just now starting to understand the meaning of it. I understand the cover artwork really well, and finally looking into the lyrics after listening to it through several times. I really love this album and I'm sure it will gain more sentimental meaning as I learn more about the lyrics and feelings that the album evokes. Fuck I love the Mars Volta! Pon pon!

The "letting the night in/night being bad" theme and "digging into the ground/burying people" always seemed to directly match the cover due to the obvious interpretation you could make of a sunset and the hollowed out whole on the ground. The album cover was designed for another Omar project but I think they said Cedric asked to use it... if so I think that's why.

That's what I always thought at least.

“So you give up pace for the fact that you’re in communion with your fellow man and sharing a fellow experience,”

So I guess the album isn't coming out in the next year probably....
