So its a known fact that some music simply sounds much better on headphones..
What do you think are some records that sound better through headphones, and what albums are made to be heard through headphones or simply work much better than with open stereo speakers.. ?

I'll say it now, Deloused in the Comatorium works better with headphones because of the many complex and large amount of noise that can be picked apart and enjoyed with more clarity through headphones.

Forms of ambient music or electronic sound way better with headphones, I've always found that Kid A sounds way better with headphones..?

What do you think are some of the best cd's for listening to with headphones?

Deloused wasn't a headphones album for me. The recording had too much trebel to be a good one.

Gruvis Malt- ...With the Spirit of a Traffic Jam was brilliant with a pair of headphones.

Yeah, i go with De-LITC, if you listen closeley at 5:45 you canhear Cedric as if he was next to your ear...it gives me the shivers.....also my friend taught me a really cool thing you can do with headphones.... you can listen to the backround voices , and you feel like if you were with Ikey, Flea and Jon.....No Cedric or Omar....its quite easy..just plug your headphones by half, not all of it and just listen......it sounds great in Drunkship!! Salsa Dances

I like this thread.

All electronica music sounds much better on headphones, especially DJ Shadow.
Pink Floyd, ambient stuff, as you mentioned. Anything with intense stereo mixing on it is great for headphones.

DITC has lot of little bonuses the first time you hear it through headphones. another album to listen to with headphones is Lateralus so many little noises and shit you just cant hear (though if you did not BUY the CD and just burned it then you would have no idea).

DJ Shadow... excellent for headphones... and riding down the highway...

I love it when you listen to a cd you've heard many times and then for the first time on headphones you can notice the sound sychronization (spelling bad  ) between the left and right speakers that you would never notice on normal speakers. Or sort of like AFi Luis mentioned the background vocals coming right at you from one side and the lead vocals from the other.

I don't even own a pair of headphones. I just use the dolby 5.1 surround sound system that I have hooked up through out my house.

Three words : Joan of Arc

Yeah, so our teacher gave us a speech today about how headphones are wicked bad for your hearing. I think it's true, but I always listen at like volume 4. Whatever.

All the Refused albums because you can pick up the amazing drums.
DITC For the same reason, along with all the other sounds.
Interpol's albums.
Old school rock because the solo's change from right to left which sounds cool on headphones.

I think if you really listen to Deloused through headphones you can really pick up on a lot of whats going on, you'll notice a bunch of little things that are very hard to pick up on through speakers.
Others:
All Pink Floyd albums
the downward spiral
The white album- main revolution number nine
