That record dealer is a wise man.

Their studio albums are good, but it's the live material that kicks the most ass. Check out Mekanik Zain from the Live/Hhai album and listen to all the beautiful layers!

I offered people to go for free and I still couldn't get a single person to go.

They've been doing a lot of represses of their older material as well as pressing the new albums too (are they EPs or LPs?).  Hoping to snag a bunch of them at the show. Only have MDK at the moment.

There's a bunch of newer LPs. K.A is the only newer one I've heard, and it's fantastic, maybe even better than MDK.

Yeah, I've heard good things about that one.

Honestly all their new stuff has been great and for better or for worse tamer.  WAY less crazy shrieking and theatrics.  I miss some of the whackadoo nonsense, but I think it is for the best honestly.

Zess is one of my favorites hahaha is so crazy that a 32 minutes song with almost the same beat over and over is addictive

More refined certainly. It was Stella Vander who did the shrieking, wasn't it? Probably hasn't got the pipes anymore. Also, if you weren't aware, KA was actually performed live in its entirety in the 70s but never recorded until 2003 or whenever it was, so it's classic material.

Most of what he is recording is 'classic' material that he is just coming back to.  Emehntett is mostly classic.   Felecite Thosz and Slag Tanz may be new, but I am certain.

I need to check out Bolbino.  I have most of the official live albums, but I think that is the last one before Magma took a break so Christian could do Offering.

Funny, I always figured Christian was the shrieker. Look at the Otis videos at the top.

Also check out this totally weird version of last seven minutes....

Even tho Magma is one of the few - if not the only - french prog band that's a powerhouse of the genre, the vocals were always an issue every time I tried to get into this band.

Zombies is simply an amazing track, I can't really explain why but to me it has some Coltrane vibe attached to it.

De Futura is another favourite.

Felecite Thosz was new material I believe when it was released in 2012. Love that album, esp the Tsai section. Emehntehtt-Re is so good-- Phillp Bussonnet is a motherfucker on the bass.

Christian Vander was indeed the shrieker.

The Trilogie Au Trianon performances, especially that version of MDK, are fantastic.
