Frank Zappa influenced Primus to a great degree.Primus is like Les Claypool's launching pad for showing people just how good he is at playing bass and just how weird he can be.
As for Les himself, has anyone ever heard his cover of Pink Floyds Animals?
It's very good.

I don't think so. He has a unique aesthetic and he pulls it off very well. But yeah, I grew out of it. Might give the brown album a spin tonight actually.Primus is like Les Claypool's launching pad for showing people just how good he is at playing bass and just how weird he can be. It's almost like it's Les' goal in life to just weird people out with the odd noises he can rip out of his instrument and vocal chords.

What do you guys think of Claypool's side projects?(Frog Brigade, Oysterhead, Sausage, Holy Mackeral, Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains)
I haven't really listened to much of his sideprojects, but what I've heard sounds pretty cool!
