meh, i friend of mine is mental over primus (he plays bass, gee i wonder why)..but for me its more of a phase..i can only stand listening to slap for a few minutes before it drives me mad

Primus is like Les Claypool's launching pad for showing people just how good he is at playing bass and just how weird he can be. It's almost like it's Les' goal in life to just weird people out with the odd noises he can rip out of his instrument and vocal chords. Like everyone, I had my Primus phase where I thought they were God on Earth, but I frankly got over it over time.

primus are definately one of my fav bands. one main reason is that they truly have a unique sound. les claypool is a genius. like alot of people have said, i went through a mad primus phase about five years ago, then didn't listen to them for ages. then recently i got back into them, catalysed by the hallucinogenetics dvd. do yourself a favour and get it, its amazing.

i'd like to see les jamming with omar, that would be cool....

I like them a lot. Frizzle Fry is one of their better albums.

As for Les himself, has anyone ever heard his cover of Pink Floyds Animals?

I don't think so. He has a unique aesthetic and he pulls it off very well. But yeah, I grew out of it. Might give the brown album a spin tonight actually.

I'm a bass player and I only listen to Primus because of Clayppol and to laugh at the weirdness of some songs.

I think it's just a little too silly for me. I got the DVD from my friend where the background is just 3 orbs, and I liked it for a while, but then I just couldn't tell if it was a different song or what because it just got all the same.

Primus is one of my favorite bands! I really like Frizzle Fry and Seas of Cheese, don't know which I like the best though. I love Larry LaLonde though, he's awesome!

I haven't really listened to much of his sideprojects, but what I've heard sounds pretty cool!

Ahh, I love Primus. Been listening to them since I was a kid, since my father would play them alot. Just recently I dug up my Primus CDs, and got a hold of Les Claypool's Frog Brigade's "Purple Onion", and enjoyed it. I almost got to see Les preform in San Diego, but my ride dropped out at the last moment.

Great band.

i've only listened to C2B3 and they are awesome. I like them even more than Primus. Claypool is such a great bass player.
