Interesting about rogers stuff. I never listened to any of his solo material. It's upsetting that that box set is so expensive too.

they're putting them out in separate volumes next month, i wouldnt say any of it is worth getting though. there are a few gems buried in there but none of the sets are of a drop everything and get it immediately level. pros and cons of hitch hiking (rogers first post-floyd release) is a pretty good album, amused to death and radio kaos less so. they're both marred by dated production and im not particularly fond of the content either, a lot of it sounds like the final cut. but that's just me, i've always thought that album distilled everything i hated about the wall into a single disc

Final cut and rogers style unfortunately does have a very dated feel. He had a more progressive vibe way back in the early days. Like I'm thinking of the video of him producing on the run in the studio. I want more of that stuff from him but unfortunately he seems stuck in his final cut aesthetic. Dave also got boring after Floyd imho. They were great together though when they were civil.

Hard to believe it's been almost 40 years since The Wall. I'm not a fan of anything labeled Floyd after that album. The only solo after that I really enjoy is Gilmour's On An Island.

Just read they're releasing an early, longer version of Interstellar Overdrive on vinyl for record store day.

It kinda does. Besides a couple good/great songs. I cringe when I hear Hey You on the radio.

Don't think its that controversial.  It's a super bloated album.  Lot of great singles, but its about twice as long as it needs to be.

DSOTM and Meddle (i choose to ignore the existence of Seamus). WYWH, Obscured by Clouds and Animals are decent too, but all have a few tracks which I just cant stand

Just read they're releasing an early, longer version of Interstellar Overdrive on vinyl for record store day.

found a bootleg version of this, its interesting but the album version is superior. i'd describe it as more upbeat on the heads and predictably meandering through fields of noodles during the middle improv, not very exciting or grabbing like the final version from piper. it can be found on "Barrett Tapes - Version Two"

Animals is my favorite from start to finish. Great concept album. Piper is neat for its rawness. Saucerful is okay. Meddle is nice as hell. DSOTM goes without saying, WYWH is great but it was never my favorite. Too sentimental sounding. AHM is cool every now and then. Summer song is dope. Final Cut is awful and Endless River is okay/great in some parts.

Live at Pompeii is awesome. Wish there was another concept concert recording or something.

I'm not talking about Pulse either. That was neat but not as good as Pompeii.
