He couldn't commit full time due to his other projects.

Anyone see this?

Bedlam would have been interesting with Deantoni back then.

If only he did join full time! I mean Thomas was definitely phenomenal and it would definitely suck to miss out on what he contributed to Bedlam, but if D did join full time, TMV would be known for their two main drummers Jon Theodore & Deantoni Parks, and he probably would have ended up being as crucial to TMV history as Jon, if not more.

I think Deantoni came at a good time. Octahedron felt a bit stale, he was great on Noctourniquet, nice change of pace there.
Thomas was killer on Bedlam, kinda felt that album needed to happen. It was just so ridiculous and kickass.

Fuck. The sync of "Come wander without me" lyrics, Viscera Eyes beat and horn-loops around the 3.38 mark. That's what LP 3.5 / 7 could have sounded like. The rest of it, wha, huh, but that brief movement is like a glimpse of an alternate universe.

3 Concertinas at once = hella trippy.

"This might actually save my voice during festival season anywhere. Naturally I'd prefer a seriously tight side pony connected to a netty pot"

Obama becomes president Jan. 20, 2009, and The Mars Volta goes to shit.
Trump becomes president Jan. 20, 2017, and The Mars Volta reforms.

Some of the best art ever created was borne out of oppression, poverty, hardship, by marginalised voices. Go Trump.

Dude There's no 666 in Outer Space is seriously such an amazing album, its the first Hella album I ever heard after Crypto came out. I honestly thought the singer guy sounded like Cedric at the time. Anyone who wants to hear a crazy ass album, seriously check it out

I remember scribbling "There's No 666 In Outer Space" on bathroom walls in high school.
