Shareeb you're a good guy and I've got no beef with you, but why are you so bent on proving TMV are broken up? Every time info has come to light that suggests TMV breaking up/going on hiatus you act all "I told you so" towards everybody, and it's kinda douchey. Let's face it, you know no more than anyone else here, you just have an opinion you can't wait to have proven correct.

Personally I agree all the signs point towards TMV never coming back or at very least taking a long time, but I find much more satisfaction in assuming they'll be back eventually than admitting they're done. I'm not saying they will be back, but I plan to look at it this way until time passes and TMV stops occupying that space in my mind. Or until they actually do come back. Which they will.

C'mon Carl, it can't be that hard to wrap your head around my textbook use of double think.

I think it's fairly obvious what my position has been on this the whole time. Like I've said countless times, there are a couple people on this forum and in the TMV community that you should really trust with info but they end up being harassed for even trying to help share a little info around here. Obviously you shouldn't blindly believe everyone on the Internet but at least consider what they are saying and try to not question their integrity.

And to try to make this clear, when you or other people suggest that I know nothing and everything is just my opinion, that suggests that I'm kind of making things up and starting rumors like a moron. That is kind of why I like to really take a stance on this and at times exaggerated things... Because you guys are just going to shit on me regardless. I'm not here to be a "good poster" or to boost my imaginary rep like some Umbi faggot.

I also don't want TMV to be over. I've enjoyed every release and still hope that in about 4-5 years they decide to make one more album. This is my favorite band still.

Fair enough, I can respect that.

Double think FTW.

Tool takes 5 years between EVERY album and it's been fine. In before TolSux.

Sometimes artists just need to stock up on reserves of good material.

That's usually what happens with "sophomoric" releases: a band spends 10 years playing together and making an epic first album, then all of the sudden it's like "it's been a year, where's your followup?!?"

This thread sucks, I got excited when I saw it, and then got disappointed when I realized I read that interview a month ago.

Get this outta here.

This is just an excerpt from the "Going Deep with Omar Rodriguez-Lopez" interview, which is almost a month old and already has its own topic here.

Nothing new has been brought to light by this.

Yeah, it makes me laugh that we all read this weeks ago, but now IT'S ON A DIFFERENT BLOG WITH A HEADLINE HIGHLIGHTING IT!

So NOW they've officially broken up.

maybe Omar just really hates Juan

What I don't like about this situation is that Omar is the only one that said about them going on "hiatus"

I think TMV is basically gone now for at least 2/3 years, probably closer to 5. I wouldn't mind, but Bosnian Rainbows is so painfully average. I feel it's gonna be a while until OR-L releases something genuinely special.

I'm not into Bosnian Rainbows that much (I'm waiting for an album release though), nor did I love the last few solo albums that he put out. I already miss Cedric. He is half of this band and as much as I love stuff like Se Dice, Calibration, AMD, and Apocalypse, it just isn't as interesting without Cedric.

Terri is cool, but is no Ceddy Bear.

This is why Sputnik music is amateur.

Anyway, this isn't exactly news. Hiatus isn't even the right word. TMV will be back, if the time is right. I much prefer it like this then to have the band together but hating eachother and churning out Noctourniqueefs.

I adore CBZ's voice. It's the most expressive vocal I've heard in music.

anybody else live their lives expecting this eventual news to hurt way more than it did. I think its part of my growing up. Dont get me wrong I still love the music, but that childlike enthusiasm slowly left as I stopped being a child

Basically my thoughts. Bosnian Rainbows is good, but it's nowhere near anything by The Mars Volta or something like Cryptomnesia, also the fact that Omar's solo output is slowing down and his last 4 releases have been average. I still hope for the day where we can hear songs like Uno and My Horror in studio form.

At first this news alarmed me.
Then I realized that all the alarming words are those of the writer and NOT of Omar:

"Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, has confirmed that the 6-part group have officially entered in a hiatus..."
"I donít know [if the band will reunite]..."

It doesn't sound official to me at all.

Also, the article refers to TMV as "the 6-part group."
Nice credibility.
