They're a really cool no-wave/synth-pop/rock/minimal duo from the late 1970's.
I love it how they released two self-titled albums. Commonly referred to as "The First Album" and "The Second Album".

Alan Vega does the vocals while the other dude (Martin Rev) programs the drum machine and plays on the synthesiser. The first album is very repetitive.. but I really got into it a while ago. Some of the most unusual songs I've heard - they were ahead of their time. I can hook somebody up with some songs if they like. in their own words "our music is Punk, Funk and Sewer Music"

Suicide - The First Album

It's got everything I like; it just doesn't have guitars, it's got a lot of soul. It's poetic. If you just look through it all a little bit you'll probably see it's the most derivative rock and roll ever - it's total Jerry Lee Lewis over a sort of heartbeat sound but it's really organic, it's all natural sounds. The sound of machines, the sound of waves and of crickets, the sound of heartbeats, the sound of dreams. It's totally amazing. I just love it...

frankie teardrop

the vocals always remind me of the ones from "Soup" by CAN - where Damo Suzuki freaks out and starts yelling gibberish

That's the right word. I saw Alan Vega solo this year, very scary stuff. I recorded it also and plan on torrenting it in the summer when I'm working more frequently again.

At ATP? Or did he tour?

Lots of people were unimpressed with the ATP performance. It wasn't exactly good, but entertaining I thought.

No, not at ATP. It was part of a festival, though, the Donaufestival.

That version put me off Henry Rollins for a long time! I used to love that soundtrack though.

It imagined it's billed as Suicide, but it doesnt sound like the albums. It's just Alan Vega's nonsensical ravings really.
