Also, King Gizz are releasing their 3rd album of the year on August 25th. Same day as Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees and QotSA iirc. This day is loaded !
They might actually make the "5 albums in 2017" a real thing. Impressive.

Good news. I read that Stu actually regrets talking that 5 albums thing since it's all taking much more time than expected Whatever, if they end up making only three it still would be very impressive (even if MotU wasn't strictly all new material).
Some interesting articles for all you gearheads:

No idea if that's from album 4, 5 or something entirely different but it sounds promising despite being only rough demos.

Seems like it.
Quote from the Gizzhead over on reddit, who are following this stuff way more closely than I do :
" About six months ago on the Facebook Fan Page, someone by the name of Blinky Bill linked to a Soundcloud playlist of about five tracks titled 'Polygondwanaland (So Far)' but quickly made the playlist private.
One person managed to download two tracks (the ones linked to in this post) but was quickly messaged by Blinky Bill asking him not to share them, which he agreed to... for a while. About 3 months ago he started sharing them.
It's thought that Blinky Bill was Stu because his friends on Facebook were the other guys from the band.
No-one really knows what Polygondwanaland is but it's most likely an upcoming album (possibly number 4 for this year?) but we'll have to wait and see! "

MOTU was quite a grower for me, I wasn't fond of the 3rd act and just lukewarm on the 2nd one, now I fully enjoy the album. Multiple listen removed my focus on the narration and this album is absolutely amazing from an instrumental point of view.
Sketches felt more instant but is nothing short of a brilliant album as well.
Album 4 & 5 were confirmed so I'm super stoked to know there's even more coming our way !

Those leaks were right on the money, fantastic !
Always excited for anything those guy release. They manage to stike a prog / psych rock sound with this new single and I'm 100% on board with that.

If the rest is as good, the new album might be their best of the year.

This album is FREE. Free as in, free. Free to download and if you wish, free to make copies. Make tapes, make CD’s, make records. The following files will be available to download at 9am Friday 17 Nov, Melbourne, Australia time at kinggizzardandthelizardwizard.com
1. DIGITAL MASTERS & ARTWORK:
This is the best option if you wish to download the album for personal use. Available as high quality MP3 files 320 kbps (≈100 MB) or uncompressed WAV files (≈500 MB). Each version contains hi-res digital artwork of the front cover at 4000 x 4000 resolution.
2. CD MASTERS & ARTWORK:
If you wish to press CDs you will need to download the DDP master and CD Artwork template. The DDP master is the format used for identifying information on optical discs. This master has the tracklist, ISRC codes & metadata embedded. In this .ZIP file you will also find a folder with a CD template, front cover art and extra artwork for back cover, inner tray, spine and booklet that you will need to put together yourself.
3. VINYL MASTERS & ARTWORK:
The vinyl master is a completely seperate master to CD & Digital masters. There are physical limitations to what the head of the lathe can produce when cutting vinyl. For this reason these files will not sound normal on generic Hi Fi speakers. Only use this master if you wanna press vinyl. It will contain a Side A and a Side B WAV file as well as a PQ log for both sides with metadata for the pressing plant. In this .ZIP file you will also find a record cover template and a folder full of artwork ideas you can use to make your own back cover, spine and inner sleeve.
Ever wanted to start your own record label? GO for it! Employ your mates, press wax, pack boxes.
We do not own this record. You do. Go forth, share, enjoy.
P.s. If u wanna make cassettes I don’t really know what you would do. Be creative. We did it once but it sounded really shit. Maybe try the WAVs idano

Is releasing the fifth album in 2017 going to be touch and go? Can fans expect a Christmas album?
“No, but it will definitely be some time around Christmas. That one’s still in the works. We’ve still got a heck of shows to do between now and the end of the year. We’ll do our best, but if it doesn’t come out in 2017 it’ll come out early next year. We’re just putting one foot in front of the other.”

Anyone getting major Tool / APC vibes from the singer and to a lesser extent from the instrumentals ?
First listen was extremely enjoyable so I assume I'll be on board with this one faster than MOTU or Sketches.
I did come around for those two though, particularly Sketches that went from a mild first impression to maybe my favourite release from them in 2017.
