you should really research the difference between a fact and an opinion.

I'm not saying you have to like everything Omar or Sargent House puts out, I'm just saying that when you state something as if it is a fact (ie "even half an album of drumming from a drummer is lame, it's not a good album") and then turn around and claim it is just your opinion makes you sound extremely ignorant.

^yes

love the album btw.
strange to have people hate electronica so much in this modern age. these people, had they been young in the fifties, would've hated the introduction of the electric guitar. "this is not music, it's just electric sounds, there is no real acoustics involved. sorry it's crap." "fuck this record, why would a guitarist play with electricity, instead of guitar."

Fuck, I'd like to see the two of them in a drum-off. I've had the pleasure of seeing Brian Blade twice, once with Chick Corea, and once with Daniel Lanois's Black Dub project (which reminds me, is that still going?).

It's a great album! But the only two songs I really don't like are "Let's Go Hazy" the rearrangement of Prince's song "Let's Go Crazy" and "Guiding Light" ... it's the only bad things I can say on this album, the rest is full of good ideas ("Make My Day" and "Dead Confederate" are my favourites). In fact, I prefer when he's doing some darker songs.

Doesn't sound like Let's Go Hazy has anything to do with Let's Go Crazy musically, I think it's just a play on the title.

they definitely have similar drum patterns (dun-TA, dun-TA, dun-TA, etc... I'm not a drummer, so I dunno exactly how to annotate it), but that's about it.

play them next to each other and you'll see what I mean...

...D does add a lot of notes in there, so they're not identical by any means. although, it does sound like Let's Get Crazy might have been a starting point for this song.

Fantastic album.

Perfect for driving with car or bus/train by night through town with all the streetlights on and that specific atmo. Love it. :)
