It's in the middle of the night here in norway now, so I'm sorry if my english is bad. But you should get the most of it.

It's actually not that interresting....Just a plain microscopic review of jagas new album, with one sentence about omar, haha, probably made up.

Another step

Jaga in some kind of rock-mode. Awsome offcorse.

Omar Rodriguez from Mars Volta has chosen Jaga Jazzist as his new favourite band. That’s a big thing these days, and the connection isn’t unlogic.

“All I Know Is Tonight” gets it’s inspiration from brittish shoegazer- and 70s-progrock. This doesn’t mean that the music is about throath-braking tempochanges over white-eyed guitarwalls. But the inspiration from the explosive dynamic is noticeable.

The band takes more time making music than before. Not as hectic, not as much “hey, listen to all the ideas we've got!”. Some of the tracks in the middle of the album, makes this not the ever wating masterpiece, but they are getting closer. The recordings on albums have always been less energic than Jagas great concerts. But not this time. “What we must” goes right in you blood, and to your brain, if you let it.

Highlights: “All I Know Is Tonight” and “Stardust Hotel”

Vegard Enlid

By the way, buy the new Jaga Jazzist album, it's pretty.

Omar Rodriguez fra Mars Volta har utpekt Jaga Jazzist som sitt nye favorittband. Litt av en fortjenstmedalje å henge rundt halsen i disse tider, og koblingen er selvfølgelig ikke ulogisk.

"Omar Rodriguez at March Volta has appointed Jaga Jazzist as her new favorittband. A hell of a fortjenstmedalje to hang around neck in these times , and coupler am naturally no matter ulogisk."

Not a very good translation at all, but I did manage to find a translator by simply searching "Norwegian Translator" in google....it came up with:
http://www.translati...gian&to=English

Obviously we have been duped into believing that Omar is male when, in fact, he is female. Damn Norwegians and their keen ability to spot trannies!

That's what I wanted! Thank you so much, sir.

:ol_fatpleased:

So Jaga Jazzist is Omar's new favorite band, I wonder if this is true or not.

11.10.2003 - JAGA JAZZIST - MY FAVOURITE NEW BAND!
Omar Rodriguez (Mars Volta) on Jaga Jazzist

This article will be featured in next weeks NME:
"I'm really fond of this band called Jaga Jazzist. They're a live drum'n'bass group from Norway. Its more on the electronic sounding and dancier side of things but its all people really playing. On the new record there are up to ten people listed on as contributing! A full orchestra of people playing that normally are just sampled or brought in for sessions, yknow? Im really into things that make me wanna dance... when I heard it, it was really exciting. I signed it to my label in the States, Gold Standard Laboratories, although it comes out through Ninja Tune over here. Whats my favourite song? I dont ever have a favourite song of a group, especially a band like this, yknow? You really should check them out." (Note: Jaga Jazzist is not signed to Omars label GSL, but Omar released an one-off EP named "Animal Chin" this spring.)

I think the term 'favourite' related more to the NME column's title than Omar's taste. :ol_biggrin:

Omar from the Mars Volta has appointed Jaga Jazzist as his new favourite band. A bit of a (fortjensemedalje is a kind of medal.. lika a medal of honour) to hang around the neck in these times. The rest I don't know because I'm Swedish not Norweigan. :ol_groucho:

They're somewhat similar bands so I'm not surprised if they appreciate each other.
