I think you can buy the new b/c/tras album from the warp records site for whoever was asking.
I think i'll end up buying it even though i own the other cd's, they appear quite scratched from hi rotation anyway.

Yeah I think I have to because I just found out it is a UK release only.

I saw the B/C album in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago. Didn't buy it though as I can't afford it right now.
Love Battles though.

I saw them live last sunday. It was a nice setting, small place. They were really tight and yet ,they succeeded to surprise me with their impros and stuff. They are one of the most original acts out there right now .
The drummer was crazy,he played so hard ,it was incredible .His drums were really weird. He had a normal set but the right cymbal was like 2 times higher than the rest . Anyway,it was a real good show but maybe a bit too experimental at times.

battles are really cool,, i'm more into don cab tho.. sometimes battles feel a little bit too mathy due to the very robotic drumming whereas don cab's drummering is more free form over the tinks bleeps and bloops
damon che is one bomb ass mother fucker

hmmmm, I saw this band mentioned in the mathrock thread...

I always thought math rock was basically metal. this is quite interesting music. I don't understand why its called math rock, could someone that can speak english (and not musical lingo) explain it to me? :)

Math rock is a style of rock music that emerged in the late 1980s. It is characterised by complex, atypical rhythmic structures, stop/start dynamics and angular, dissonant riffs.

The quote pretty much sums it up.

Here's the whole article, if you want :)

fucken amen to this.. battles keep me going, i pretty much listen to them on a daily basis likewise don cab (well more so in the past don cab).. and john stanier is one hell of a fuckin drummer and a total work horse... i've just got every one of my fingers crossed that battles tour this year in Australia as i've loved them ever since i heard a live recording before ep c came out... yeh fanboy shit i know, but battles live is where it's fucking at people, seriously live battles = major orgasm.

I really hope these guys come out to Australia, anyone know the chances of that happening 'cos isn't it pretty much a side-project where all the members are tied to other bands?

The 3rd song on ep C is probably my favourite at the moment.

as much as i love battles i haven't really been arsed to remember the song titles. which was probably the reason they named them so, i guess it doesn't matter.

so i just checked and 3 is hi/lo, great song and the drum intro bit when stanier hits that big crash cymbal sounds so frickin sweet.

I read that they might make it out here in october. I read this as being pretty likely to happen on another bands message board from the site owner/forum moderator. The band in question being the mark of cain from australia (as stanier has been their drummer for a few years now). I think the plan was for him to bring battles over to tour and then record some new stuff with tmoc. Whether this actually happens or not...
please please please!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to mention Stanier being the drummer of tomahawk also, christ what a lunatic that guy is.
As far as the other band members go i don't think they are in any other groups at the moment..

i think i recall Jon Theodore recommending Tras Ep or something like that. I really dig the live stream, this is some pretty good stuff.

This dorment period of them not releasing an album is grating on me.

I'm an impatient man, it would seem.
