Don't know if anyone here listens to the band Unwound, but I suggest you do, if you like the whole Fugazi-when-quiet-meets-Sonic-Youth-with-hints-of-Shellac-and-Jawbox type thing that is.

Apparently quite a few of the bands I've been listening to recently (Currents, Limbs, Juno) seem to cop the Unwound sound (at least according to reviews and other press), so I've made an effort to check out the source and bump this thread. Leaves Turn Inside You is a great album. I also like what I've heard of the previous albums as well.

I've been going back to my roots over the last week and I dug out the album "leaves turn inside you", which was a big part of my musical development around the same time Kid A came out. Those 2 totally changed music for me...

I'm a bit surprised that there's only a few comments in one thread on these guys. Check it out.

This is one that I've heard about but I never checked out until recently. Definitely worth it.

They are definitely one of my favorite 90's bands. Been playing Repetition quite a bit these days. Repetition is pretty amazing, along with Fake Train.

In the words of Justin, this continues from where Leaves left.

I love it.

Does anyone know any bands that are making this kind of sound (this album, leaves, late fugazi) *right now*?

And one day C&O listened to this song and said to each other:

Let's amp this shit up to 11.

Thank you for bumping this thread. Somehow I have never heard this band. Classic stuff in the vein of Talk Talk, SonicYouth, Fugazi, but all their own too.
I love the mellotron on Leaves.

I accidentally somehow discovered Unwound many years ago. I haven't listen to much of their catalog , however their "corpse pose' number is one of my all time favorite songs. Nothing much llike that fucking beautiful song.
