With teeth sounded like an aerobics dance class mix-tape.

I'm kinda thinking Trent's best work might be behind him. Sad

But basically NIN is good. Downward Spiral and The Fragile, those I liked.
And I think With Teeth isn't that bad, it only took a while to get used to that "aerobics dance class mix-tape" -sound, like AVOLITE said it.

I enjoy Reznor's work quite a bit.

I haven't heard all of his latest CD, but from the few tracks that I have heard, it's not that bad. I think it's pretty good.

its hard to catergorise NIN. The cd's they release vary so much its not funny, heavy thrash to dramatic instrumental piano.

I love NIN, but it's a band that I listen to in intense bursts of a week of solid NIN and then don't touch them for a while.

Downward Spiral is my favourite just because it seems to carry a sense of urgency. It has a really cool pattern when you listen to it as a whole. The Becoming is so excellent, lyrically and also with the pools of foetal position acoustic guitar that make it really effective. And the looped samples of people screaming And of course Hurt.

The first disc of the Fragile is great but I think it starts to die a bit on the second disc, especially in terms of lyrics. What makes me Lol is that Marilyn Manson is failing miserably in achieving in 2005 what NIN achieved in 1991.

With Teeth is dodgy. It's not a bad album...but maybe bad by NIN standards...

Fuck Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy is the real thing...
Give your NIN CD's to your 9-years-old sister, and go buy "Too dark park", "Last rights", "VIVIsect VI", "Rabies", "Cleanse fold and manipulate", "The process", "Ain't it dead yet"...

Even Trent Reznor himself admits it : he stole everything from Skinny Puppy and early Ministry...
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, folk. But try some Skinny Puppy though, you might enjoy it + tell me I was right...

Say what you will about Marilyn Manson (I think MM has sucked since Scott Putesky was kicked out of the band), but in my opinion they had a much cooler, much more original sound before hitting it big. I can't think of anyone on earth that sounds like MM circa 1991-95.

I've always been a NIN fan, but it's understandable that Trent is no longer as vital or innovative as he used to be. Most bands aren't, after 16 or 17 years (with some notable exceptions).

Skinny Puppy are great, but you can't even compare the two. NIN to me aren't even an industrial band. The only thing he ever really ripped off was Down In It, which is hardly stealing "everything"

And I think With Teeth was fucking killer....especially Right Where it Belongs and Getting Smaller
