I'm so glad you guys agree with me. However, as a huge STP fan (my first concert), I'm still really excited to see them with a professional, mainstream and acknowledged singer. Even if I want to cause his balls to drop by force.

Front man replacements are always a disaster. If the singer leaves or dies, time to call it a day and move onto something new. I mean, much as I love Paul Rodgers as a singer, he sucks as the lead singer of Queen. And Rod Stewart single-handedly ruined the Small Faces.

I really agree with this. A change in singer is probably the most noticeable change in a band. Not only does the style of music change to fit the singer, but the band has a new face and really it doesnt sound like the same band anymore.

not always.

However, i tend to believe this change will be a disaster. Then again, i don't care. I don't really know any of these bands.

2008–present: Solo career and The Wildabouts[edit]

On November 25, 2008, Weiland released his second solo album, "Happy" in Galoshes, produced by Weiland and songwriting-producing partner Doug Grean. Weiland went on tour in early 2009 to promote the album.[53]

On August 30, 2011, Weiland released a covers album, A Compilation of Scott Weiland Cover Songs, exclusively through his website. The album was originally to be released along with Scott's autobiography until he decided to release it separately, stating, "[it] actually turned out so well that we're going to release a single and put it out on its own, 'cause I think it's…it's sort of my Pinups, I guess you'd say."[54][55][56]

On October 4, 2011, Weiland released The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, an album consisting entirely of Christmas music. Weiland supported the album with a club tour of the United States.

In a November 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, Weiland stated that he foresaw 2013 being a busy year for him and his solo band, now called The Wildabouts. Scott Weiland and The Wildabouts plan on possibly entering the studio for a new album and in addition to that, they plan to continue touring after Weiland's small tour at the end of 2012.[57]

Weiland's solo tour "Purple at the Core" with his backing band, now branded as The Wildabouts, commenced in March 2013 with pop/rock band MIGGS as the opening act.[58]

In June 2014, in an interview with San Diego radio station KBZT, Weiland revealed that his debut album with his new band The Wildabouts, titled Blaster, would be released in November 2014.[59] Ultimately, Blaster will be released on March 31, 2015.[60]

2015: Art of Anarchy[edit]

In January 2015, Weiland was announced as the singer of a new band, along with Ron "Bumblefoot" ThalJohn Moyer, Jon Votta and Vince Votta entitled Art of Anarchy, with an album set to release in Spring 2015.[61]However, Weiland distanced himself from the project, stating "It was a project I did where I was just supposed to have written the lyrics and melodies, and I was paid to do it. I did some production work on it, and the next thing I knew there were press releases that I was in the band. (...) I’m not in the band."[62] Weiland later added "It’s just something I kinda got into when I wasn’t doing anything else.... I sang over these stereo tracks and then sent it back. But it’s not something I’m a part of."[63]

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Man that band is playing way too fast for Mr. Dyllan to keep up, what kind of self-serving musicians would do that to such a legend, so clearly down on his out?

God can you imagine how good a slow, acoustic version of that would be with the exact some vocal recording and a few chromatic notes on the guitar here and there?

The poor man's a genius drowning in the echoes of regurgitated commodity

The band is putting out a new album on March 16th with a vocalist that is pretty much a Weiland imitator.
