For some reason I couldn't help but stop thinking of all the old live jams the band used to play that later derived into new songs. I just thought it would be a nice idea to compile a small list of all of them and discuss what we liked better about it before or now. Also, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing anything.

Drunkship's early live breakdown --> Cygnus's break

Cicatriz jams ---> Cassandra Gemini jam

Cicatriz drums during chorus --> Cygnus's drums during chorus (just something I found rather interesting more)

A Plague Upon Your Hissing lyrics ---> Day of the Baphomets lyrics

Eriatarka live added lyrics in bridge into chorus ---> Conjugal Burns lyrics "All of this time Bedsore containment Where am I now that the music has faded"

Rapid Fire Tollbooth ---> Goliath

This thread has been made before, but it's always nice to see what parts make it.

Can't ever recall seeing that thread...and the search, as always, was just crap. If you can link that thread that'd be awesome. If not, oh well I suppose.

Does anyone know if any of the lyrics or jams created during the "Abortion, the Other White Meat" jam ended up on any songs? I'm having a hard time finding that file...and I would rather not waste 36 minutes listening to it just to find out someone knew off the top of their head. Although listening to that jam would sound amazing right now.

Off I am to listen.

This really doesn't happen often enough to warrant its own thread.

That and the fact they do the same jams every show makes the fun factor like 1/10th of what it would be if we had to look back through their live catalog and find the specific jam it was taken from.

This is omitting the conjugal/eriatarka thing.

I wish they'd turn that jam from the ?uestlove YouTube video into a song. That shit rocked.

They used to do an ambient section before Cygnus that became Vicarious Atonement.
The outro of Goliath used to appear in live performances of Roulette Dares.
They used to play a riff from Tetragrammaton during Eriatarka jams.
I swear that Omar played the guitar riff from the begining of Con Safo during a Drunkship jam from 2004.
The "Intro Song" they've been playing is just a loose jam version of one of Omar's solo songs.

There's a bunch of other shit too. Considering that the Drunkship jams of 2005 were so different every night, I bet a bunch of stuff that appeared later on was played on that tour.

Sounds a lot like "Frances" to me. I only noticed it last night.

Are you talking about the one that they used to do all the time (on the Big Day Out video as well)? If so...definitely not the end of Goliath, but I've always wanted them to throw that into a song. So fucking bad ass. Thomas would kill the shit out of that.
