This is painfully awesome, It sounds exactly like you think it would, Tera Melos but with Zach Hill on drums, and its makes me cringe its so fucking raw but yet it sucks me in. Need to hear more.

This sounds pretty amazing! Its simply amazing to see how much Zach Hill keeps doing without losing sight of quality.

I agree

everyone needs to go see tera melos live, but its too late vince is gone

new drummer has a lot to prove--I saw em play together 4 times live (the original line up) and they were all some of the best performances I've seen live not to mention they usually play ground floor so you'd be able to get right next to nick while he was playing--if you werent afraid to get his head stock in the face

there first self titled album with just melody #'s for titles is in my top 10 albums of all time. From start to finish, its completely in an original voice.

but this zach hill and reinhart fucking amazing best news since froosh's new album and omar and zach hills new band

i love the end of the year because so many new records come out

agreed. it is essential that this new drummer john has mad chops; especially following vince. i got to see them play with vince on their last tour with him here in austin. it was mind-blowing but they only played about a 30 minute set. facing new york was on fire that night too. fantastic musicians coming from norcal these days.

have you heard zach hill's solo album and his two albums with "zach hill and the holy smokes"? if you like this melos/hella stuff you'll definitely like those three albums.

I havent heard zach hill and the holysmokes, but I do have astrological straits and i really enjoy it. I listen to it in the morning to get me up.

I also love hella's stuff, im one of the few people i think who liked theres no 666 and the vocalist aaron ross

but bygones on the first couple listens, is kinda like i was expecting more than what it is

the judgement is very premature tho

I'm also one of the few.. no 666 is actually my favorite Hella record.. so much more layered than their other stuff (besides church gone wild of course)...

from tera melos four days ago:

"the album is rad. as idividuals, we feel it's some of the best work we have produced. also, as some of you might be wondering, this is not a side project. this is a band. we will play shows and make more records. hopefully the record will be out early next year. march/april maybe? i don't know. i absolutely can't stand that side of putting out records- dates, numbers, money. no thanks."

This music is impressive as fuck but it also freaks me the fuck out. The vocals sound like some angry supercomputer just screaming some shit at you that you can't understand, but if you have to understand or else you can't disarm the bomb and people will die. Its seriously like a nightmare. That being said, the musicianship is great, I like Tera Melos and some Hella that doesn't make me want to kill myself like this stuff does.
