Not sure if there has been a thread on them before. Swedish progressive rock band. They have that "classic" prog feel. I've been listening to their album, Sleeping In Traffic, Pt. 1, a lot lately. It's excellent, though nothing that pushes the envelope. Anyways, if you like prog rock, you might want to check out this CD, or any other by them. I have two songs loaded on megaupload, but they don't represent every style of music that is found on the album. Btw, the intro to "And Never Know" will probably be regarded as a Volta wannabe by the nerds here who think Volta invented every type of music there is.

Yeah I love these guys, they definitely do have that classic prog sound but with the tools of modern production. I prefer Sleeping In Traffic Part Two though, it's a really well put together album. I highly recommend these guys.

I've yet to delve into Pt. 2 yet. Still captivated by Pt. 1. I really hope I can catch them at the Progressive Nation tour this year. Hope they hit my area. Very excited to get into Pt. 2 when the time is right.

Oh wicked I saw Progressive Nation last year, when it came to Calgary. I'm super stoked to see Beardfish, I really hope they play some Canadian dates.

I've got the whole discography, minus the latest album. Unfortunately I can't upload anything because it's on my broken computer and my Zune is now dead as well. You should be able to find the The Sane Day and Sleeping in Traffic Part 2 (I believe) on a couple blogs. The others I got from WhatCD.

I'm growing more and more annoyed over the fact that Coup de Grace isn't the album closer. It would've been much more epic than This is the stuff...

Beardfish is just one of a thousand similar progressiva rockbands who innovates and puts an original stamp on the old progressive legacy (pink floyd, yes, genesis etc). The band is swedish (like myself) and they play fantastic live as well as in the studio. I highly recommend them, especially the sleeping in traffic-albums. You can see many similarities to tmv in their riffconstruction and vocalstructure.

So yeah. Enjoy.

Here's for you, Dandelion!

http://www.prog-sphe...inite-universe/

Very good and informativ interview, including some info on the new album:

Rikard: There isnt much to tell yet, unfortunately Im so in the middle of it all that I feel like I dont want to spill too much for some reason. Its a Beardfishharder album, in a sense that it has a couple of songs with more distorted guitars in them than usual! Were working on the album title, and I think we have it, but the risk is always there that we might change it, and in that case I dont want to tell you now, you know! I can tell you there is one song that is 15 minutes and its probably the most classic prog song weve ever done and at the same time it has some crazy metal parts to it so we had a guest vocalist who came in and did some growling on it, a friend of mine named Jimmy Jnsson. There is also gonna be some saxophone on a couple of tracks!

Also, I'm seeing them tomorrow.

The last album had 10 or so seconds of metal growling... it was a little out of place haha. Thanks for the news!
