Anyone familiar with this group?

http://www.myspace.com/worldwartour

I've been really into this band over the last year; ever since seeing them open for School of Seven Bells back in October.

"Elephants" from their "Exquisite Corpse" ep was mixed by John Frusciante in fact.

Can't wait for more details on the debut full-length which is expected in August.

I was trying to find an existing thread to merge this with because its like 'no doubt someone at somepoint made a thread on Warpaint'.....NOPE.

I loved that EP btw.

I have Exquisite Corpse on CD, awesome thing. The whole EP was mixed by Frusciante and another guy who also helped him mixing The Empyrean. Wonder how would the full-length sound like.

correction: "The Fool" is a WORKING TITLE I guess. That website didn't include that little bit.

They also just recorded a cover of David Bowie's "Ashes to Ashes" that you can stream there:

I've seen them a few times over the past couple of years and they're really good live! And they've been getting a good amount of well-deserved exposure. They're very sweet, too. :)

to say "they're sweet" would be an understatement. I seem to be hypnotized in every video interview with them.
Having met them, they are into hugs ;)

Also interesting quotes

http://livemusic.fm/...-getting-stoned

Describing the new recordís title drummer Stella Mozgawa explained recently to interviewmagazine.com;

ĎThe Foolis a reference to a state of innocence, to push yourself to see who you are, with the potential of falling on your face to reach liberation. The risk of laughing at the wrong moment or to choose not to act like you know everything. As a band, we're all trying to be naked, if you will. As naked as we can be. I only wear clothes because it's illegal not to.í

The girls also described the album as a stonerís record;

"It's stoner order. We made this album to listen to stoned," bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg told Interviewmagazine.com. "Originally, 'Set Your Arms Down', the first song, ended the album and 'Lissie's Heart Murmur' started it."

Singer Emily Kokal added: "Yeah, we definitely recommend listening to the new album after smoking. It's the best.

Naked and Stoned?

by the way, the whole album can be streamed here for 1 week
