Thomas Pridgen is at work with someone names Jordan Ferreira on a new proggy, hard rocky album. The project is called Elixir on Mute. Check out the promo:

Sounds like Volta, no? (one riff sounds like it was ripped straight, and I mean STRAIGHT, from Eria Tarka). That said, those songs are sounding good, and it's good to hear Pridgen going ham on the drums again.

I think some of you are looking at this from the wrong perspective. When you go into a blues bar and hear the band playing a 1,4,1,5,4,1 progression, you don't stand up and shout, "Hey, you ripped that off from Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker!", you sit back and enjoy their interpretation of the blues genre. TMV music is actually a genre unto itself, imo. If other bands want to play around with the formula, why not let them? No, it's not a life-changing experience like TMV, but it's good ear candy. I enjoy this and Atlas of Id too.

Vocals at 0:50 in sound EXACTLY like the "And now when the craving calls/ I'll scratch my itchy teeth" section of Cassandra Gemini. Caw, caw! (wish I knew how to type the backwards-inhaling screech... ACH!)

And I don't hear any odd time signatures, either. Just fast metal BS.

Does anybody know how to get in touch with TP so he can hear my demos? :P

i think YOURE looking from the wrong perspective. if i was in a blues bar and i heard someone playing a riff by muddy waters with someone who used to play with him, then got fired, and now kinda talks shit on him, id think its real lame

i think thomas realized 80% of his fans are mars volta fans and thats why his projects sound like the "mars volta genre"

the vocalist is like a mix of Justin Bieber, Jared Leto, that guy that always has black feathers in his hair and the creep from tokyo hotel. and maybe Justin Timberlake too.
