I love how Carson's style meshes with Zach's playing –like the rapid fire strumming where the pick is just shredding against the strings fuses with Zach's playing, and it's so awesome when it does. I'm also obsessed with his tone. No one really plays guitar that way.

I love this guy. Especially the video of him playing acoustic. That one video has influenced my guitar playing so much. He also kills it on the bass for Hella and The Advantage.

It's pretty cool because I'm pretty much a noob playing guitar but I sometimes wrote stuff like that acoustic song and when I saw the video I though "this is where I want to get".

the blurb at the bottom explains it pretty well.

Chasing the Desert Mouse, Transobservational Knowing and Virtual Nirvana are awesome.
the math piano is pretty sweet too.

well worth $5

I asked him about House of Honor (was that the name of the band?) and he told me "the universe won't let me record albums".

Haha, I wonder what he means by that? I've heard him say in an interview that he gets really anxious when in a performance setting, so that's why his appearances are so rare. I wonder if it's because so much of his music is improvisational he can't sit down and consciously record an album from start to finish.

The most important aspect of music to me is just playing music. Making an album largely stresses me out. It's really difficult for me to put what I do under a microscope in that way. I wish that someone will just present me with a well packaged recording of all the best moments I've had of playing guitar in my room. That's where all the best versions happen and where I feel like I've really achieved something. Also, I don't have a really large back catalog of songs so it's kind of a struggle to choose what to work on in the studio and turn into more fully developed music.

I wish they'd release that house of honour track or at least put it up on his bandcamp.
they did a proper recording of it in that video.

He released a new LP today. Looks to be his first actually "polished" release.
