So we have 57 on official studio E.P/L.P releases, if you merge tracks on DITC. Then Frances The Mute, Ambuletz, TBATB, APUYH. Is Mr Muggs an original? If so we have 62 thus far. if there's no other eligible songs, we should split the DITC tracks, then we'd have 64.

We could place bets on which songs will win, and then whoever gets it right gets a custom title. I'd participate. As much I hate these rankings, I'm very curious about the what the consensus among Volta fans is on the best TMV song. Obvi, Goliath, Cygnus, and Roulette Dares would be among the top 10, but Volta fans have such different preferences, and their discography is so diverse, I think we might see some wild cards.

Solar Gambling is great, but Ximena's vocals kinda bore me on that one. I love all the spacey transitional tracks though, gives the album some great atmosphere.

One time two years ago (wow, can't believe it's been that long) I got stoned and listened to Solar Gambling on my stereo while laying on my bed. It was goooooooooooood.

I'm one of the few on here that don't enjoy Solar Gambling much at all. A couple of my friends who actually listen to Omar's solo work feel the same way. It's one of the few Omar albums I never went out of my way to get on vinyl and never get the urge to revisit. To me it sounds like weak ass b-sides from Xenophanes, and is the worst of the Omar/Ximena catalog. But hey I tried. The only tracks I can kinda get into are Un Buitre Amable Me Pico, Lorentz and Vasco da Gama. The rest of it bores me and feels like such a let down, especially the vocals.

I will randomly draw these 64 songs into 8 groups of 8 songs each. I will make a poll for each song. I am undecided as to whether to allow multiple votes, or to limit it to one vote per user per poll. Discuss this.

The top 4 songs in each group after 1 week go through to the next round. The competition will then be a straight knock-out format, each round being drawn randomly. In the knock-outs, the polls can possibly be shorter if you guys want. I will stay neutral throughout, giving statistics and general commentary, because yes, I am that much of a dweeb.
