Almost all of this band's material is entirely indispensable. It's extremely precise with impeccable drumming. Gaucho remains a long lasting favorite, as well as Aja and Pretzel Logic.

I'm jealous of my father for being able to see them in '74.

I saw them live like two years ago.
They're pretty keen.

Did zoro play for them for a while? If so i'm not surprised that the drummings tight. On his 'commandments of drumming' book's cd his ghost notes are just ridiculous

Yeah. Jeff Porcaro provides my favorite drumming of the group. He IS the shuffle groove.

I was a kid when they were popular and current.
I couldn't name a member or a song but when ever I hear Steely Dan it gives me a warm all over feeling.

Dennis Chambers has played with them during a tour or two. Put they've had an excellent roster of drummers do session work: Bernard Purdie, Steve Gadd, Jeff Porcaro, Jim Kiltner, Ed Greene, Rich Marotta, etc.

Bernard Purdie is the god of the half-time shuffle...."Home At Last" is unsurpassable.

they are fucking touring, people. they talk to Becker in the new Rolling Stone about it. and I quote: "We're planning a hard-hitting, super-slamming set. This is no time for halfway measures." July 7-Sept 2. i am not sure of the exact venues and such, but i am so fucking there.
