so, having nothing better to do tonight, i decided to go out driving. ive been listening to Yangui U.X.O. all week and just bought f#a#oo today. i get in the car and motherfucker= redeemer starts and it was perfect.

careening through old dirt roads at 70 miles per hour with godspeed blaring, windows down on a cool summer night. i almost hit a fox too.

i wanted to show my appreciation for this amazing band. they have now surpassed les savy fav on my favorite bands list. some people may call it pretentious or boring, but i think they create some of the most amazing, beautiful music out there today.

i have a piece of steak caught in my teeth (see ice cream thread for more information on steak). if you dont appreciate gybe you can talk about getting shit stuck in your teeth.

Yeah GYBE is the best band of theor kind.. I like 'em better than Sigur Ros, though I also like their stuff.

"Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven" is also amazing.

They're good. I prefer Sigur Ros cos I have a short attention span and their songs aren't 20 minutes long each.

Yanqui and Lift You Skinny Fists are my favourite GYBE beasts.

ever since i bought it, though, yanqui uxo seems average or slightly below for godspeed to me...lift your skinny fists, f#a#infinity, and slow riot seem like they beat it down.

still good, though..haven't sold it back.

i was only introduced to GY!BE this year, by LimeFetus, and their stuff has an amazing sound to it. you'd think no one would enjoy it but hardcore music fans, but it gives everyone the itch for amazingly composed instrumental music.

I fucking love this band. Everything Efrim touchs turns to gold, and that goes for the rest of the Godspeed players. I still need to get 'f#a#(infinity),' though. I've heard many good things. I think "Sleep" off of 'Lift Yr. Skinny Fists...' is my favorite song of theirs. Either that or "Antennas To Heaven."

And if you like GYBE, be sure to check out A Silver Mt. Zion (even though there name is abnormally long now) and Explosions In The Sky. Silver Mt. Zion is a pretty prominent side-project featuring Sophie, Efrim, and Thierry from Godspeed, plus a few others. And they use vocals on some songs. Explosions doesn't have anything to do with GYBE, really. It's just good instrumental rock. Be sure to check out "Have You Passed Through This Night" and "A Song For Our Fathers."

stumble then rise on some awkward morning by a silver mt. zion is one of the songs i wouldn't mind being played at my funeral. it's not so much morbid to me as amazing.

that, or sisters brothers small boats of fire are falling from the sky.

yeah, i think lift your skinny fists... is the best. yangui uxo is a good car album just cause it avoids most of the drony songs or talky parts. i still need to get slow riot for zero canada ep.

my favorites are: lift yr skinny fists, monheim + broken windows, locks of love pt. 3, the first one off yangui (cant remember the date) and motherfucker= redeemer.

i havent quite delved into f#a#infinity yet.
