don't want to step on anyones toes, but i'd like to post up different bands everyday to show some sort of support towards bands out now.

Isn't that what Mumblings is for? Just bump bands topics, or start ones if there aren't any for your band of the day, yet. If you're thinking of starting "your" BOTD topic... personally, I think that would be destined to fail.
