"Is the opener set for the September 17th show in NYC for ORLG? Or is it just going to be straight Omar, no opening support? Either way it's going to be phenomenal. Thank you for making this happen, I appreciate it.
I think Le Butcherettes will be playing that show as well as the Chicago show we are adding the next day"

"the ORL group is playing chicago or are le butcherettes playing in chicago?
yes both Omar and Le Butcherettes will be playing together in Chicago"

figured i'd post this since it wasn't up yet.

YES!!!!!!!!!! Words cannot describe how happy I am about this!!!!!!! smile.gif
Frightful
Every day I come on the coma, see no dates I can get to for the year, and pity myself for the extreme boredom I must endure.

Until now.

I put 20 on Reggie's

That'd be sweet. The Vic or the Bottom Lounge would be cool too.

I didn't have any problems at the Mars Volta show last September.
JordanJ1988
ill be there. to close to home to miss this

It's strange to me that he's playing Highline Ballroom in NYC, which has a capacity of 700, but he's playing Congress in Chicago, which has a capacity of 4000.

My thoughts exactly. I was really expecting a smaller venue. But, the congress is pretty close to my apartment so I can't complain!
crimsonKOOKS
damn i wish i had money to go out to Chicago to catch this.
AETIOLOGY is badass!!! you guys should come out to AZ sometime so we can do a mini California tour.
JordanJ1988

DrunkshipGemini
Where did you get your tickets? I looked on the congress website and ticketmaster and didn't see anywhere where it said i could purchase tickets yet?

Booyah!!

Thanks guys!

See you in Chi-town!

Also, anyone else unhappy that its at the Congress? I love Riveria and Aragon, but the congress is just a mess. Location isn't the greatest, but maybe Omar likes it more over the other two because its in a more centralized latino area?

Either way, i'm going to trip balls and freak when Omar plays Here the Tame Go By
JordanJ1988
yeah congress would not be my first choice but maybe it was the only place he could book

Thanks bro!! Yes, we do have a show coming up. We're playing at The Beat Kitchen on Belmont on Tuesday July 13th! Come on out!

Back on topic: I am sooo psyched, just bought my ticket!!

This is going to be wonderful, can't wait to hear some Xenophanes live! biggrin.gif
JordanJ1988
i know iv been geeking out over this since i got my tickets... i am more excited for this show than i ever have been for a mars volta show!
DrunkshipGemini
^^^^^^ This.

Waaay more excited for this show that the last Volta show at the Congress.

Something about that show sucked. Out of the 12 Mars Volta shows I've been to, it was by far my least favorite.

They played no Cygnus, no drunkship jam, no intro-jams, and Omar basically phoned in his performance.

BUT! This show will destroy and will be much more excellent.

Epicness much? YEP!
JordanJ1988
agreed. the 08 aragon show was EPIC though when they ended in drunkship my brain exploded..

Did anyone get the "Untrusted site" message when they tried to buy tickets?

I'm going to wait a bit until that gets sorted out
Blankxpression
i think he chose congress cuz they dont use ticketmaster for there ticketing. no $15 service charges. helping out the poor fans :)

Yeah, I got the same thing. I bought them anyway, because I've bought tickets from that site before, but I've never had that message come up. Weird.
DrunkshipGemini
@ Blankxpression - True, but he used ticketmaster for the New York show day prior to chicago. Maybe he knows us chi-town kids are poor. :(

I'm suprised they chose the congress. It's super big. I wonder if a lot of folks will go....
hitek9
Bought the ticket special online 2 for $30 and I cant wait. The 09 show was great to me from the front row
serpent rays
4,000 capacity for the venue. Do you think it will sell out? I was at the Volta show last year and the place was PACKED but not sold out i think...
Frightful
Thought it sold out last year day of, just before the show. Whereas much smaller venues in Pontiac and Cleveland were half empty a month later.
sier
I'll be the tall white guy.
Athleticist
theres no way even half of this capacity will sell out, if so then that's fucking awesome
scott_86_05
Has anyone else heard the rumor that the reason they chose such a large venue in Chicago is because they are planning on filming the show?

I thought I read that someone mentioned that in the New York thread....

When I was at the venue's site I saw they advertise their live/studio recording capabilities right on the site. Instantly thought that....

Finally bought my tickets. I might end up there by myself, but who cares...I'm pumped.
